Scrubs was set up in 2004 by Queen's University Belfast medical students and has had a successful 20 years! The society has been voted Academic Society of the Year three times at the Student's Union Awards (2011, 2015 and 2017).

We have excellent connections with the surgical and medical community throughout NI and further afield in ROI and the UK in order to help students gain an insight into the different specialities whilst getting hands-on experience!

Throughout the year, there are numerous events including:

  • Anatomy Revision Classes

  • OSCE practice days

  • The Emergency Medicine Conference (EMC)

  • Surgical Skills Conference

  • Suturing Workshops (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced)

  • Networking events like Behind the Scalpel and Women in Surgery

  • Specialty Champions Scheme

  • Talks on topics such as Junior Doctors, Elective and Intercalation

Life is short, the craft so long to learn.
